Mazda 2.2 Exhaust Camshaft & Valve Repair

Carbon makes the exhaust valves stick and wear the camshaft, then the head gasket goes. We never fit a camshaft on its own, because the fault comes back.

  • Engine or head removed, fully decarbonised and inspected
  • All exhaust valves replaced, guides cleaned, new stem seals
  • New camshaft and rocker arms
  • New vacuum pump and pressure sensor, DPF pipes cleaned
  • Fresh coolant, oil flush, ECU relearn, 50 to 100 mile road test

Add a full engine rebuild for £900. Suits higher-mileage engines.

Around 80k to 100k, the intake manifold and EGR system block up. A full strip and clean restores airflow and clears the fault codes.

Do you only work on Mazda vehicles?

Our specialism is Mazda, particularly the 2.2 diesel engine, but our Lead Technician has worked across all major car brands. Get in touch if you're not sure whether we can help with your vehicle.

How long does a decarbonisation or strainer service take?

Timings vary depending on the package and what we find once the vehicle is stripped down. We'll confirm an estimated timeframe when you book, and keep you updated throughout.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Call or text 07904869475 to arrange a slot. We're open weekdays, 08:00 to 16:00.

Will I get updates while my car is being worked on?

Yes. We send before-and-after videos so you can see exactly what's been done and why.
